First Class Law Tutoring Contract
This agreement is between First Class Law Tutoring (“Tutor”) and the undersigned student or client (“Client”) for law tutoring or consulting services.
1. Services Provided
The Tutor will provide personalized law tutoring or consulting sessions, including instruction, practice materials, and feedback, tailored to the Client’s needs. Sessions will be conducted online by default unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Tutor will not write assignments for the Client or assist in any form of plagiarism, including drafting, editing, or providing content that could be submitted as the Client’s own work.
2. Client Obligations
- Attendance & Punctuality: The Client agrees to attend scheduled sessions on time and notify the Tutor at least 24 hours in advance of any cancellation or rescheduling.
- Preparation: The Client will complete any assigned preparatory tasks before sessions to maximize learning or consulting outcomes.
- Engagement: The Client will actively participate and communicate any challenges or goals to the Tutor.
- Payment: The Client agrees to pay the rate of $70 per hour for individual or group sessions (maximum of 3 participants per group session). Payment is required in advance via credit or debit card, unless otherwise agreed. Late payments may incur a reasonable fee.
3. Tutor Obligations
- The Tutor will prepare customized lesson or consulting plans, provide clear explanations, and offer constructive feedback.
- The Tutor will maintain a professional and respectful environment.
- The Tutor will communicate any changes to session schedules at least 24 hours in advance, except in emergencies.
4. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations by the Client with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% of session fee.
- The Tutor reserves the right to cancel sessions with notice and will reschedule or refund as appropriate.
5. Confidentiality
The Tutor will keep all personal and academic information shared by the Client confidential, except as required by law.
6. Limitation of Liability
While the Tutor strives to provide the best service possible, the Client relies on the Tutor’s advice at their own risk. The Tutor is not responsible for academic outcomes, including grades assigned by the Client’s university or institution, as these depend on the Client’s effort and external factors beyond the Tutor’s control.
7. Disclaimer
Nothing provided by the Tutor during sessions or in materials should be construed as legal advice. The services are for educational or consulting purposes only, and the Client should consult a qualified legal professional for any legal advice or representation.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 48 hours written notice. Fees for completed sessions are non-refundable.
